I am sure there is this dark cloud that always appears over me when working with new software!

Here's the scoop. I turned site-maintenance on so that I could do ... well ... site-maintenance. Now that I am finished I have turned off site-maintenance (or turned on the ability for the public to view the site again) ... HOWEVER, I still get the site-offline message. Any ideas what may cause that?

I may have the on / off wording turned around as reflected on the admin screen, but the setting is now set so that the public may view ... but they can't. Argggh

As usual, thanks in advance to all you people out there smarter than me!

Do you have the cache turned on? If so, turn it off, hard refresh your front page and see if your front page comes back. If it does, then you should be able to turn caching on again with no problem.
