This is a fantastically useful module and allmost all standard webs have this feature by default.
Now will there be a D7 version of this module?
If this feature goes to core, how jerky will it be for those of starting to use this for D6 to upgrade/implement this feature in D7?

Yes, there will be. Unfortunately, I am extremely limited in my ability to work on my Drupal modules at the moment. I am hoping that my situation improves soon, but until then, I cannot work on this. I would not hold my breath that it will be ready for the launch of D7.

This type of feature will not be going to core in D7, and probably never, as the core developers oppose it. However, there have been some related changes that will hopefully make other module developers more aware of, and capable of supporting, this type of feature, which is good.

It is my intention that the module will be fully upgradable.
