I'm working with Godaddy hosting. Big mistake on my part. I have had so many problems that I've never experienced with other hosts.
Anyway, godaddy has a Cron Manager that is supposed to handle custom cron jobs. When you use the automated Drupal installation, a cron job is created for you in the cron manager with the following command "/usr/bin/wget -O - -q "http://yoursite.com/cron.php" > /dev/null 2>&1". It does not work....
I contacted support, and they told me that:
"Unfortunately you will not be able to use Cron Jobs that call on the server through Port 80. This issue is caused by the Grid Hosting Account environment. There should not be any need to leave the site to connect to itself on port 80."
Then they told me they could not tell me how to work around this issue because they don't offer third party support.
Is there anyone else out there using Godaddy who could clarify what to do here?
