I installed the node_image per the install file, creating node_image directory under modules. I also created images directory, images/node & images/term directory under the Drupal directory.

I got this message on trying to accesss the modules part of configuration:

user error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
query: SELECT * FROM item WHERE fid = 4 ORDER BY timestamp DESC LIMIT 0, 15 in /homepages/12/d89009176/htdocs/thedeal/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 97.

I reloaded it several times and re-downloaded it.

I am running Drupal 4.4.0 d/led 18 March under a directory with the domain pointed to it under virtual hosts at 1and1, with PHP 4.2 etc. The database is shared with a couple of other uses but it hasn't been a problem until now.

This does not appear to be related to the node_image module, and was likely a temporary database connection problem.
