Just about to take the plunge with upgrading a site with plenty of modules.
Should I follow the usual sequence of upgrading- 4.6.5 to 4.6.6 to 4.6.7 and then to 4.7.0 and finally 4.7.1 or can I go directly from 4.6.5 to 4.7.1?

Worked for me
I went straight from 4.6.5 to 4.7.0 with no problems. All of the modules and themes I'm using have 4.7 versions. I believe the update script takes care of all the incremental database changes from any 4.6.x version.

Thanks. I did an update to
Thanks. I did an update to 4.6.6 and then to 4.7. The update completed reasonably okay, but the theme was such a big mess because I forgot to save the original bluemarine folder to which I made extensive changes. In the end, I decided to make a clean start with 4.7
In case anyone is reading this, remember to take full backups of your initial site and db before you make custom changes or at least make a detailed note of *all* your custom changes for both modules and themes. I was foolish not to note down the custom changes or save the original theme folders and have to start afresh.
