Create a audio-node to an existing audio-file

With the recent extensions audio_attach and audio_import plus the inbuilt upload facility we have marvelous tools to bring audio-files into drupal. Thank you all for this. Nevertheless it would be really cool if in addition to this the last option I could imagine would also be implemented: creating a node on a file which is already in place - the standard way used in the video.module. This is cool if we want to link to a file from several sites without having to copy the file physically.
