Hi,
We have create an announcement for OSMOBI, a service create by Siruna that helps in making your website mobile.
The announcement that we would like to see promoted can be found here: http://drupal.org/node/657304
We hope to get this promoted to the frontpage both to promote our free service among the Drupal community and to create awareness on new innovative possibilities for Drupal (being Drupal as a mobile friendly platform!).
If any changes have to be made on the text to fit better in the Frontpage, please let me know.
Thank you,
Twom
PS: We would like to position the attached image as a float at the right hand side!

gdemetI've added the screenshot and made a couple of minor punctuation tweaks. I'd also like to hear the opinions of some other webmasters on whether this is a homepage-worthy story.

twom commentedHi gdemet,
Thank you for the comments and feedback. If you have already suggestions to other information to make this a more noteworthy story, I would be glad to change the text!

stephthegeek commentedI saw this post and decided to check out the service. I'm completely blown away and I think this will be huge for Drupal and is definitely front page material... it's like Acquia Gardens for mobile.
However, the post comes across like a sales pitch and the marketing language could be toned down. A few less exclamation points, caps, and salesy tone, especially in the third paragraph. More screenshots of the functionality/steps would also help I think. You want to explain more of what it does and less trying to sell it to people (at least for the purpose of the tone of news on the d.o front page).

gdemetAgreed with Steph; I've changed the input format back to filtered in case twom wants to make any further changes.

silverwing commentedThe post isn't a Showcase post but a News and Announcement post, so the question becomes is that a site that Drupal.org wants to (unofficially) support?
Since it's nothing more than a sales pitch, I have to give it a -1.
I'll have no objection if Twom wants to make a showcase post for this site.

gdemetAgreed with Steph and silverwing that the post as it currently stands is not home page material. I'll leave this issue open for another couple of days before closing out the issue and turning back on Full HTML so the images appear on the post.
