I'm tired of problems with XAMPP under windows...(very slow under modules page... or very slow installing drupal...)
So... I am installing Ubuntu server in a virtualbox now... to be able to test locally in the same conditions as in the webserver.
I've found this guide... let's see how it goes http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2009/10/27/build-your-own-dev-server-with...

what a difference in
what a difference in performance and everything !! Sorry windows... No doubt Linux is the leader in servers.
That guide was not good for me at the end. instead.. I use Bridge type of network interface in my virtualbox settings. and everything works perfectly. I can access to the guest and the guest can access also to internet. Perfect for my purposes.
Bye XAMPP
Has anyone tried this on
Has anyone tried this on playstation3? I guess it is capable of running linux.
