This is a very nice gallery module and I would like to suggest some feature requests on this module:

1. Add a upload feature like SWFupload which is available in Album Photos module as photos swfu.
3. Add a feature to create categories for gallery. By default the categories option can be disabled. Once enabled a mandatory field of dropdown with categories will be available to select categories. Categories can created by admin, and by registered users if permission allowed. A block will be available with an option of number of categories to show; and with an option to sort gallery names based on alphabetical or custom in the block.
4. A slideshow feature for viewing photos (like dfgallery for album photo).

In addition to the above, when clicked in a category (in the block), all the albums in that category will be displayed, newest album at the top. There will be an option to select how many thumbnails to show in each gallery.

Looks like I can get the categories part done with the taxonomy module. However, I would still like to recommend the SWFupload feature which is available in Album Photos module as photos swfu.

I think the part of your request regarding the taxonomy flexibility is secundary and you have posted the reason in point #2.

The batch or flash upload feature have more importance. So I started before christmas the submodule Image FUpload Gallery Assist wich is a submodule from Image FUpload and extends Gallery Assist with the multiple upload feature.
Now I am waiting for response of the Image FUpload maintainer to take a desicion how to contribute it. ( 674242 )

I send to you the dev version in case you want to test the functionality.

I tried the dev version of image_fupload_gallery_assist. I uploaded it to domain.com/modules

I can see following line while editing the album:
Click the "Select Images" icon on the left below to begin.
However, I don't seen "Select Images" icon on the left!

I am also still seeing the regular "Gallery: Add and edit gallery items" also. Am I supposed to see this even after enabling image_fupload_gallery_assist module?

have you installed image_fupload?

have you installed in image_fupload the needed files from swfupload?

Please, read the install documentation from module image_fupload (in the README.txt). You need to download the swfupload flash application and follow the install guide from image_fupload.

(you not see the icon because it should be embed through the js-script files from swfupload)

I would love to see Feature #1!

SWFUpload looks to me as a great module and GA is missing something like this.
