i m drupal newbie. i have worked with php and mysql...
I have simple task to do...
I have 2 roles one is user and admin.
users creat a form of his profile. upload his images....
now when they login they view their personal profile nothing much or they can view his personal objects.
we usually do this process in php like updating all his fields in one table and based on the ID we retrieve his data. like select * from test where ID = 1
i want to do this simple task drupal, can anyone explain the structure of drupal, process going on and the database structure....

no programming required
You can easily accomplish what you describe with a combination of core and third-party modules.
For user profiles you can use the core profile module or perhaps Content Profile for more robust/flexible user profiles.
For user profile images (i.e. avatars) you can use ImageCache Profiles, which requires ImageCache.
If you want to learn how to create your own modules a good place to start is the Module Developer's Guide.
Have fun!
its like i have gone thru the basics
but the problem how i can get desired values from the database ,unless i know the database tables and structures.
just can u give the steps how u would solve this issue. pls....
you need Views
You should not need to concern yourself with custom programming or the database structure.
I would suggest you explore the Views module (and the many add-in modules) to extract the desired data and display it however you need.
views are used to arrange the data in the desired manner..
but how can we get the desired output without performing the search ,,
and only by views.
thanks and regards.

It's hard to be more specific without any details of what you're trying to do, but BM is quite correct-- views is the way to do this.
what i need is..this one...
Its a simple website.. with three roles users, authenticated users, admin,
users tasks:
1) they should perform the search
front page will consists of 2 text boxes and 1 drop downs, where he can select the state, region and type of good he wants to search like cars, bykes....
' 2)Then the output will be based on the search results, its like images and their descriptions.
3)Authenticated users can upload the data(images and information about their products) and edit their own data and can check their list of goods they uploaded.
this is what i need...

yep, 1 and 2 are views with 'exposed filters'.
For 3, that's built into core. You may also want to put a view of a users content on their profile page as a tab. Another option might be the workspace module.
