The 4.4.0 branch version of node_image.module contains a couple of URL strings with the "q= ..." format. The attached patch corrects them to use the url("string") format.

I'm not 100% certain that the strings are accurate, but I modified the existing "q=..." call to use URL as best as I could. They appear to build the correct URL strings now.
