I posted this in a Views 3.x roadmap page, but it was suggested that it be posted in the forums. I searched and didn't find anything in the views issues apart from an confrontational rant so I thought I would start a positive general discussion here.

I've just come back to views 2.x after using 1.x a lot up until a year ago (new job different technology). I've gone from being able to do pretty much whatever I want to struggling with the UI, and I thought I should get in the loop for the view 3 UI design if it's not too late to give some feedback. Not so much for me, just maybe to make Drupal a little easier to use for the less skilled of us.

What are people's thoughts on the views UI and would any of the developers want some usability feedback?

Between views 1 and views 2 I think the views 2 UI is a big improvement. While it takes some getting use to (so did views 1) the interface provides a richer set of options in a more compact space.

I also think that the Views 2 UI is a big improvement, I actually like how it works, compared to the annoyance I felt with the old UI.

Me 3-- takes a little bit to get familiar with, but once you learn your way around it really is quite efficient and easy to navigate given the unbelievable amount of options it organizes.
