I keep getting this error no matter what role i want to put in.

I also want to add two roles, am I missing something here or am I just being a dum ass ? :)

You only need to enter a single pair of singular/plural labels. These are for display purposes only, not for selecting the roles themselves. Once you have created one or more additional roles, you will then be able to select the user-selectable roles via checkboxes.

That's all there is to it.
