Although I doubt this feature request will fit the direct you want this module to go in (I could be wrong, fingers crossed). What about bringing this a step further and allowing individual backgrounds per user profile or even based on a url?

I am developing a social-community site allowing members to select their themes. I'd love to see this work in such a situation so that each member might select their background for their profile different from other profiles (similar to what is done in many 'social-sites' like MySpace), and then also select their view of the site with their own personal background selection. Any possibility of these options happening?

Theme Hues does this. also if you are using content profile you could use a filefield.
