If I understand correctly, one way to get a trackback is for someone to click on a referring page from another site. If so, it's not working with 4.7.0 and the latest (as of 5/28/06) cvs version of Trackback.

jockox3@drupal.org commentedSorry to resurrect this after so long, but I don't think it is working yet even now on 5.x-1.x-dev version of trackback. I just can't get anyone to confirm it or not, and this is the first time I;ve found anything that suggests it was at some point not working. And since the issue was not resolved I presume it is still an issue.
Can anyone using the Trackback module confirm whether or not they know for sure this "auto-detection" when someone simply clicks through from another site to mine is actually working for them? If not I can stop tearing my hair out and look for another solution. But at the moment it's costing me a lot of time!

thepanz commentedIs this issue still valid? AFAIK Trackback is working as axcepted for stites that correctly sends trackbacks

widhalmt commentedAs far as I understand the reporter, the trackback module should recognize Links from other sites, that don't send trackbacks or sent them at a time, trackback was not enabled.
I have the same request: Some sites link to my blog but don't send trackbacks. AFAIR a former version of trackback reported such links as trackback. I even reveived some trackbacks but at that time the trackback module was not enabled at my site so I will never have a way to show these links as trackback.
