I have a structure such as the following
TopContainer
SubContainer A
-category a1
- subcategory x
- subcategory y
-category a2
... etc
SubContainer B
-caegory b1
-caegory b2
-caegory b3
I could add and edit categories with the proper information being displayed in the Category Information: Container and Parents fields (both using and not using ActiveSelect). I have category configured to update menus.
Background (may/may not be relevant): All seemed well until after I did the following: Changed menu settings for the subcontainers so that they would appear under my primary menu instead of under TopContainer in the menu structure. Set the menus to expand. Changed the category settings > default menu to another menu item (not navigation). Edited the TopContainer and all the menu items were reset so that the SubContainers appeared under TopContainer, with menus no longer expanded. SO FAR THIS APPEARS FINE and consistent with what I would expect.
THE PROBLEM: I edited subcategory x and the ERROR is this:
- subcategory x became a child of SubContainer B
- I could not move subcategory x back where it belonged because when I chosed Category Information:Container "Container B", only one option appeared for Category Information:Parent - and that option was "Container A"
In other words, the category heirarchy is no longer correctly recognized by the relationship of the Category Information Container and Parent fields -- this is true with or without ActiveSelect.
1. Has this already been fixed? (I couldn't find it in the bug reports)
2. Do you need more information?
3. Do I have to restore my database or is there another fix for this problem?
4. Until this is fixed, what should I not do to avoid this predicament?
