I can go through all 8 steps and everything looks fine. Then I tell it to start the import and it goes back to the main page with a message "New import task has been created." But there's no indication from there how I run the task now that it's created and the help page ends at that point. I feel like I'm missing the obvious here, and I apologize in advance if I'm being dumb, but how do I actually run the import?

Figured it out. I remembered I didn't have errors written to the screen and went and looked at the logs, which showed there was a missing table. Running update.php fixed it. Why I had to run update.php on a module I just installed, I have no idea, but that seems to be the answer.

Just to sum up.

This happens when you had the module installed before and it was not uninstalled properly last time.

I agree, that module installation file should check for this and run all required updates.

Hmm... I don't think it was ever installed before that but it's been 1.5 years so hard to say anymore.
