view paths cached?

Hi,

So I am setting up a site that has a nav bar on the top, as well as left hand navigation. I am using menu trails to keep the correct top navigation item highlighted. I am also using taxonomy ID to filter out content with Views controlling what pages are seen. I created a view and have the path: work/marketing. I deleted that view and now when I create new views, if I try to use the same path the highlighting doesn't work. I can call it work/marketin or work/market or anything else and the highlighting works properly. When I turn it back into work/marketing though, the highlight on the top nav turns off. I tried clearing all caches I could.

Any advice?
