Hi Page Manager Developers

Firstly I must say, great work on the panels and chaos tools modules. I espeicllaly like the direction the page manager feature seems to be taking (making it easier for drupal newbies and architects more able to visualise the struture of your website). I'm also encouraged by the direction or suggestion Earls Miles has made, about using panels via the page manager to structure your website (I've found this approach to be very useful and intuitive).

I not sure what's on the road map for chaos tools and panels as it pertains improving the usability of the page manager module. However I'd like to suggest some features for the page manager based on other CMS systems I've used in the pass.

1) Folder tree type layout - site urls will be treated like virtual folder with virtual system, custom pages/nodes etc.

2) List view setting - for easier copying and reusing of already created pages - inline editing of custom/systems pages.

I agree that I'd very much like #1. My experiments with it have been kind of mediocre as it is quite difficult to keep the database properly in sync, and Drupal's menu system has a certain amount of automation that can't be disabled, preventing me from just saying "NO don't do that, let me do it as I want".

I'm not really sure about #2. That's some pretty extensive javascript wizardry and it's neat but I'm not sure it's worth the fairly large effort it would take to author.
