I think that the Module page is not very well formatted.
It would be lovely to have a module navigation tab as part of the adminstrator menu at the top.
A tab for "show only disabled modules". to save having to look at all the enabled ones sometimes. and vice versa.
Mouseover fields for all the dependency info,
Green ticks and red crosses and orange no smoking signs instead of (disabled) (enabled) (missing)
Titles like:
Views 6.x-1.0-
PHP beta1
Filter
would become:
Views PHP Filter 6.x-1.0 β1
rationalise it in those kinds of ways.
Surely it would nice if fields like:
Product 6.x-2.2 REQUIRED. A module to represent items in an online store. Imagecache and CCK Image field recommended.

because the page already takes 20 seconds to load on 127.0.0.1 sometimes, it would be nice if it were abit more user friendly.
I have blocks on either side of the modules! how can i ask Drupal to show no blocks on the module page, only the others?

may want to install Drupal 7.x to see what changes have already been made in what will become the next major release.

ok i will try and find out what D7 module tab will be like...
but i think that by the time a big variety of modules are stable for it, will be 8 months from now?

7.x-dev is merely for testing. Many modules will be ready when D7 is released as stated on their project pages, many will not. I am not telling you to build a production site with 7.x, I'm merely making the point that before you waste so much energy typing up such a post. It is best to investigate the upcoming -dev of 7.x and figure out where your suggestions may or may not still apply based on the current work being done. Suggesting major changes with reference to a current release doesn't make any sense at this point in time. API's won't change in Drupal 6.x. Matter of fact there will be no radical changhes in 6.x at all at this point.
Changes of the magnitude you speak of go into Drupal 7.x and those that weren't ready for D7 are marked for D8.
to handle when blocks show, use block visibility settings by editing the blocks in questions and telling them what paths to show or not show on.

I just put d7 in a folder and tried to run install.php, with no luck, i think i should learn d6 first, it's really amazing, i have to say, i didnt even know CMS existed! i was still living in "geocities wisiwig editor" times!
