International Rivers is the foremost global river protection organization working in Africa, China, the Amazon, Southeast Asia and other regions to protect rivers and stop destructive dam projects.
We use Drupal to coordinate our network of campaigners who's activism includes publishing reports, videos, press releases and blogs to internationalrivers.org in English, Spanish, Chinese and other languages.
One of the most important parts of our redesign was hiring a design house called Design Action Collective. They created an excellent graphical representation of our theme, which was coded into a customized theme
Before migrating to Drupal campaigners had to submit articles for review, which created a choke point in work flow. Using roles (such a simple thing!) allowed our team to better coordinate without having to get prior approval, all editing is retroactive. The publish content module allows campaigners to work on a page unpublished, but without relying on the all powerful "administer nodes" permission.
Publishing photos, blogs and video is now a point and click operation, instead of coordinating muliple departments across continents.
Our donation page integrates with Democracy in Action seamlessly to process donations and email lists.

gdemetI'm still not seeing where the images are attached, or where they're supposed to be placed in the case study.
The case study also seems really light on details; I'd like to hear more about how and why Drupal was selected, the process of the building the site, its technical implementation, design development and collaboration with your design partner. Case studies promoted to the home page should ideally be success stories of interest to the wider Drupal community, and this story seems to me to be lacking a lot of context and information that would make it a compelling read for folks. As it stands now, I don't even know who the testimonial in the story is from or to. Was this site built by an in-house team, or did International Rivers hire a development shop to work with the designers?
Also, this case study is tagged "Drupal 5.x". Is this a recent site, and if so, why was Drupal 5 chosen instead of Drupal 6?

silverwing commentedPersonally I'm against promoting sites in D5 this close to D7 being released - unless there's a really good reason. And do you plan to upgrade to D6 soon since D5 won't have updates after D7 is out?
Your Testimonial needs a reference - otherwise, it means nothing.

gdemetI'm -1 on this as well, given that it's a nearly three-year old Drupal 5 site, and the case study lacks any context about how built it, why Drupal was selected, or how it helped make the site a success. I'll leave this issue open for another couple of days in case any other site maintainers have a different perspective before closing out the issue. Either way, I'll also add the images and turn on Full HTML.
