Hi,
I am having trouble with my civiCRM configuration. i have enabled this on my server however when i try to search or add a contact i get a memory error.
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 80808 bytes) in /home/virtual/site102/fst/var/www/html/collaboration/modules/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 365"

or similar. it happens on different lines depending what i am trying to do. i think i used the correct civiCRM install (right version of php) and used the correct mysql databases.

does anyone have an idea how i can fix the problem. is it a server problem?

http://drupal.org/node/31819 has a number of ways to raise the limit. Try them one by one. If none works, contact your hosting provider.

thank you very much.
i raised the limit in the htaccess file which worked a treat although it was already set somewhere at 16M so upped it to 20M will the Hosting service get annoyed with this value?
