How to do a full-text script search locally?

I often need to search a certain snippet among some .php or module files. But neither google desktop search or windows built-in search is able to index the content in these files.

Is there any software can help me?

I know its a mac thing, but the text editor "textMate" can open a whole directory as a project and search (and replace if you like) for whatever strings you specify. I imagine there are text editors on the windows side that do the same.
