Issue Summary
On many sites I maintain, it is preferable to have weblinks open external links in a new window, rather than the existing window. Often, commercial sites especially want this feature, because they want to "keep the client on their site," but informational sites also may do so, because the goal is to offer the end user additional information without removing them from the primary site they are browsing.
There should be some way, either globally, or on a per-janode/link basis to have a link open up in a new window instead of in the existing window.

Tough one this. In some circumstances I too like to open a new window but only for some things. I nearly included this option as standard. However, this "usabilty" breaks Neilson's number 6 hate in the top ten of bad website design:-

I note that the links package has this feature. So, I'll probably do it at some point.

That would be nice to have. Even though I personally hate it when sites do that, some clients require it. One of those things you know.
