Battle around MySQL heats up

Oracle is trying to acquire Sun, which means they will owns MySQL

Michael "Monty" Widenius, the creator of MySQL, is asking us urgently to help save MySQL from Oracle's clutches.

By writing to the European Commission (EC) you can support this cause and help secure the future development of the product MySQL as an Open Source project.

I received this email from Monty this morning. I've already signed the petition. It's important for ALL of us to take a stance on this, or we may lose Mysql as an open source alternative as Oracle absorbs it's competition.
