hi, I'm sorry for the beginner question. I cannot see any difference between Page and Story. Is it just a conceptual distinction ?

Can I delete the content type Story, since I don't need it ?

There is no difference between the two - I believe there once was a difference many releases ago - and both have continued for historic significance.

So, yes, delete the one you don't need.

As I understand it, Page has comments disabled, Story has comments enabled.

A very small difference, but useful if you don't want to keep turning comments on and off.

I think Story also has "promote to front page" on by default.

If you do delete Story you can always re-create it later.
