The module should integrate with User Relationships (or similar) module to allow a user to indicate that they only want to allow friends to tag them in content.

i second to this idea. tho i haven't use it yet, i'm assuming that this feature is not in this module?

for social networking site, it's going to be chaotic if anyone could tag anyone.

I agree with this feature request. Also, ability to untag someone after tagging within the same screen would be nice, the autocomplete field gets mixed into the help tip text which makes it hard to read user names, and integration with views would be essential.
