Once grid-like display support is added as well, the combination of that and this one will make possible the creation of indexes of taxonomy terms displayed as images in a grid.

klonosbtw, if this one starts getting some love, we should consider options in the UI for selecting to:
- display images associated with the terms along with each term.
- only image replacing the term name (having the term name as a mouse-over tooltip perhaps?).
- only term name without associated image.
Radio-box selection seems the most appropriate here I believe.

xanoI'm not going to build this into any display. Perhaps into the term entity theming, but nothing else. The UI is getting rather complex already.

xanoI will have to look into how Taxonomy Image handles term images, so I cannot really tell how I am going to implement this. I do think it's a valuable feature and I want it to get it, so just stay tuned ;-)

groovedork commentedsubscribing too. I'm building a site where people upload Van Gogh images they've spotted around the world. Nobody knows the names of these paintings (and even if they did, there are 6 "sunflowers"..), so visual selection is key.

klonosI wouldn't count on this module for doing your job (if this feature is critical for the site you are building I mean)...
Xano (the maintainer of this module) is taking his time with this. This is not a bad thing, since it is open source and all, but he also seems to ignore people's requests. No offense, but my experience with this module was such that I felt I was simply beta-testing features only he would find useful personally.
I've been monitoring all this module's issues and if you take a look yourself, you'll see that his replies to people are there to support my case. His favorite status for other people's requests is 'won't fix', while you'll see him opening issues himself and providing patches sometimes even in the same day asking for people to test the new features.
The description of what this module does (or will at some point do) is very promising, but the amount of people using it is like ~40. This says A LOT! So, take my advice and try doing something using Views. I personally have wasted months on this one and my personal opinion is that it is a waste of time unless it already does what you are looking for.-

xano- Dev versions are works in progress. This means you shouldn't rely on them unless you are willing to do some coding yourself.
- It so happens that my work on this module is entirely voluntary. I'm not getting paid anything, neither do I profit from it by using the module myself, because I have no use for it. Ergo, in the end working on Index only costs me lots of time and it doesn't give me anything back. Unless you feel like hiring me, of course.
Klonos, I appreciate the efforts you have put in testing this module and thinking things through with the rest of us in the issue queue, but if you are going to down this road I'd appreciate it if you just don't post here anymore.
