i've been learning how to theme the search box and I've gotten pretty far except, how do I place the search box in a specific region? the "drupal way" ?

I believe you want to move the varibale in page.tpl.php and place it in the correct div

unless you mean the search block, which would be moved in administer -> blocks.

I'm in the zen theme... when I move the 'search form' block to any region, it doesn't show... Any ideas?

I already moved the search variable to where I want it but I'd rather use a block.

no idea why the search block wouldn't show in any region.

alright... i had the block only showing on the frontpage... it's late, sorry about that...
