The documentation (as so much of it is) is not as clear on many points as it could be for newbies like myself. I actually downloaded one module who's entire install instructions consisted of "activate module" and "add a mailbox".
As near as I can tell, this is the "Holy Grail" of content management systems. It's been asked for for years and for years it's not materialized in any CMS that I've seen. FUDforum is about the closest I've seen yet, but it's only a forum. The CMS that finally integrates a mailing list/forum into one of their modules is going to see their download numbers explode (IMHO). Even the civicspace modifications don't really carry this out well.
People want to duplicate the yahoo!groups functionality on their own sites, with calendars and picture galleries and all the little "nice-nice" functions that yahoo!groups provides, without the obnoxious advertising and invasions of privacy (read their TOS sometime - most enlightening). And they want to do it easily, without stringing together multiple hacks.
I would love to see if anyone is using this already to find out how it integrates.
Can I use Drupal to display sidebars on the forum?
That was my main problem with all other integrations (phpBB,SMF,vB) and the reason I am using Drupal Forums.
Will there be a converter for Drupal Forum -> FUDForum?

Looks great
Hi
I've been looking for something like this too!
Is the set up limited to adding a separate forum to drupal; or can all the comments on drupal be handled via fudforum?
thanks
