Hi. I just have a simple question, and I really haven't been able to find it in the forums.

Do I need to enable the core profile module to be able to use Advanced Profile Kit? many forum comments talk about how you CAN use it, but nothing says it is required or not.

I've used them both together before, but now I want to do a fresh install, and use the cleanest possible configuration.

Is there any benefit to use core profile with APK, or benefit to not using it?

No, you don't need core Profile. You can use it but it doesn't work with APK as well as Content Profile does because the CTools integration of core Profile isn't as good as it is with CCK.
