I am typically getting 13 second load times for pages from openpublish with the initial site from the installation. I also get 500 server errors when I run it through host-tracker.com which looks at response times and is thus generating many requests at once (compared with 1 second response for standard html site and 1.5-2 seconds for a joomla installation).

I am using dreamhost shared hosting. The site installs just fine, but am having this issue with page load times. Why so slow? Since other php driven sites have far faster response times, is there something about openpublish that is resource intensive? Are there any modules that one could turn off to get a speed benefit?

This was in large part due my host and was helped by moving to a new server. But, open publish is pretty demanding on server cpu and memory.
