Open4Energy is an open source publisher of energy efficiency technology and information. We are a powered by Drupal, and thanks to contributed modules, low internet hosting fees and no salaries, we are able to cover our direct costs.

This is an ask of the Drupal green community to help do good!

The home energy efficiency industry has been infected with three malicious families of energy scams, aggressively promoted on the Internet.

1) The consumer is invited to buy plans for building a simple home energy saving device. These include a DIY solar panel, and a DIY wind generator and capacitors to capture lost energy.

2) The consumer is offered a free energy audit during which it is shown that their electricity power factor is below 100%. This information is used to scam then into buying a power factor correction device.

3) The consumer is invited to built a FREE energy generator, based on work done on magnetic fields.

In all of the above, the perpetrators have used their understanding of search, adWord buying and affiliate marketing to flood the internet search engines and small publishers serving ads (mostly Google adSense) with false testimonials, fake case studies, outlandish claims, fake review sites debunking the scam claims, and 100's of affiliates.

I am writing this this post to ask all green conscious publishers to band together and stop this senseless theft by these marginal fraudsters.

We are writing to ask Drupal publishers to help expose these senseless scams by linking to one or more of these pages where appropriate.
