When I install the AF and try to create a new forum topic in an Organic Group (OG) Forum, the forum list where one chooses in which forum the topic should be posted, is empty. This causes that the topic can't be published as the form keeps asking for the destination.

When I disable AF the list is back and working normal. And when I enable AF the problem is back. So I guess this is related to AF.

I have been testing different versions of both OG forum and AF without any luck.

Feel free to request more information if needed to look into this issue.

Kind regards

Update:

I downgraded to AF "advanced_forum-6.x-1.x-dev" and it seems that the problem is not there. There are other issues on this version so it would be nice to be able to use the newer version, but for now I will stay with the "old" version.

There's an issue about getting AF 2.x to work with OGF in OGF's queue.

Do you havwe a link for that? I saw a thread that died last year about it and am tryign to dind out the current state of compatibillity. I wish you guys could work together.

Working together requires each of us to install a module we don't use and work out the kinks in it for free so that people who do use both modules can make use of it for free. I'm generally generous with my time but there are limits. If people want them to work together, the code is open source and we both accept patches.

Anyone found a solution?

Is it really necessary to bump every single issue related to this, even the closed ones?

I just thought as there are different people in different issues seeking the same thing perhaps one of them found a working solution they could share. Unfortunately in every thread are different subscribers so there is no way to communicate with each one unless I posted to each of the seperate issues. I think it can be though of as the opposite of when someone asks a question and others respond "Did you try the search button first?"

@AntiNSA: Rather than bumping up every thread, including closed ones, and annoying the hell out of the maintainer that is giving you this module for free, how about simply trying the dev version that has the changed links and report whether it is working? Since I don't use OG Forum, I can't tell if that fixed it. Without someone who wants to use both getting involved and helping rather than waiting around for it to be fixed for them, it may never be fixed.

Hey, I will try it when I get a chance. I am trying to be effective. I can guarantee you when I do I will provide you lots of testing feedback which I hope will help. BUT I am so busy it is hard to waste time trying to recreate the wheel. Dont be annoyed, I am just trying to be functional. And since I am getting it for free you should know that I am using it to give other people free things and paying it forward in more ways than one. If that makes you feel any better about it.

Sigh. I concede that I was grumpier than I should have but bumping up issues to ask when something will be done rather than trying out the work that has been done so far is a pet peeve of mine. And bumping up closed issues really gets under my skin.

That's great that you'll provide feedback. I look forward to seeing it.
