rfaySo nofollow affects whether Google ranks the Amazon page higher.... May I ask why you care?
I'm not opposed, would just like to understand.
I should mention that most of the instances of amazon links are managed in .tpl.php files, so you have complete control - copy the tpl.php to your theme and adjust it.

jarea commentedAn abundance of links to external sites can result in one's site being lowered in organic search engine ratings. The search engine begins to view the site as a link farm.

This will be in tonight's dev release. Please test it and see how it works for you.

dparizek commentedI think it also gives you more control over where you send your page juice, so to speak. If the juice gets divided amongst all the links on a page, while I really do not care if I send some to amazon, I might not want to dilute that which I am sending elsewhere.
