How does one get an email if a post has been replied by someone? I cannot see any option in the account area.

That option is not available on drupal.org in the forums. (Issue queues different story)
At this time there is no module employed to do so and previous discussions on the topic show that the non inclusion of a module that does so may affect performance. Though I don't know if infrastructure team has actually weighed in on that assumption.

Save your tracker to your favorites. It's the only way to keep track at this time.
