Have been working with Drupal 7 dev versions on MAMP. No problems until recently. Now, D7 installs, but fails to prompt for user details, then rolls over immediately to the front page and displays the message "No active batch." Looking at the User table in the DB, I see the string "placeholder-for-uid-1" in several fields...?
Cross-checked by installing 6.15. No problem. Worked like a charm.

D7 is still under active development and prone to breakage at any time. It's just part of development.

Really? Sorry for the sarcasm, but that is not exactly a helpful response! I believe you can assume I know that it is under development. Moreover it fails to even consider that the problem might be local -- I believe that wd be a rational line of enquiry given that no one else seems to reporting this exact same problem on these forums...

Um, nope-- not judging by the number of times I've had to point that out as people try and use it on production sites. Also, not judging by the fact that you're posting in the forums rather than in the d7 issue queue. Not to mention the fact that you don't acknowledge that anywhere in your post. I never make such assumptions when responding to forum posts-- it inevitably leads to lots of wasted time.
And again, nope-- no one is reporting virtually any d7 issues in the forums because there is no release yet-- not even an alpha.

It's really encouraging to come here and find people like yourself that are so clearly interested in solving problems (rather than finding unhelpful people with pedantic attitudes who have the time to berate users, but evidently no time to actually provide any meaningful assistance).

Browse my tracker-- then compare yours-- and you've been a member longer than I have. I'm always amused when people like you, who help no one but themselves, feel they can comment on the way I provide assistance to others in the forums, lol.
