The "delete profile" button is not deleting the profile. Is there a manual deletion procedure?

You're right, there was a typo that failed to find the delete function.
I've patched it in dev.

Either try an upgrade to dev (I don't think there's any problem with an upgrade path, but do view and re-save any old profile settings)
OR you can disable and uninstall through the ui the module which will clear all profiles. Then you can re-enable.
