I have been using ImageCache 5.x-1.3 on a site for long time now with no problems (yes I know I should have upgraded, but this is a has-no-money-non-profit client). Suddenly yesterday all images (ImageCache images) do not show on the site. The ImageCache presets also do not show up on the ImageCache admin page, yet I see them in the database table. Permissions on all folders seem to be fine and I can go to the ImageCache images via browser directly. It's as if suddenly the code to print the images in the nodes (via ImageField) is not working. The display options in ImageField are also not showing the ImageCache presets.

1. Any thoughts on correcting this? I have a database backup and could do that but not sure its a database problem.

2. Should I just upgrade to 5.x-2.5, and if I do that, can I go directly from 5.x-1.3 to 5.x-2.5? (I know I will need to install ImageAPI first).
