Reading the documentation about 15 times I'm still not sure if this module does what I need.

Please add a guided tutorial on how to put this running, specially regarding the default view installed by the module (which is completely broken btw).

Also, can't understand if I must use the view from the nodereference field on the node edit form or if I use the view in an independent way and nodes selected there can be dragged to another node and become a nodereference there.

Can't see any draggable or dropable element on the page. JQuery UI is correctly being loaded.

Everything is completely unclear in this module.

Also, an "Editor Toolbox" thingy appears to be a needed module but can't find it anywhere. None of the modules installed gave me the "Bookmarks", "History" and other tabs on the screenshot on topic "AEF Editor Toolbox" at http://drupal.org/node/614014

Well, your problem comes from one area, described in the answer to the bug you filled.
Of course, some more docs would be good as usual, I'll try to find some time to make some more advanced stuff.

Concerning the bookmark and history tab, it is featres of AEF Editor Toolbox. This module is using Nodeselect, nodeselect is part of AEF Editor Toolbox.
This module is not open sourced yet because of code being not ready yet (some not-generic stuff still inside the code).
