On my website there was an error in PHP Safe Mode in the status ON.
* warning: realpath() [function.realpath]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 516 is not allowed to access /tmp owned by uid 0 in /home/jeparasp/public_html/ALIANFURNITURE/includes/file.inc on line 190.

I have asked the party host to turn off Safe Mode, but the host can not be answered (in the sense that it should be ON), lend a hand to seniors / those who know how to outsmart that error occurred is lost, although in PHP Safe Mode ON.
Thanks

I think you have to ask your web host to set php Safe Mode on or allow you to set it, otherwise the best way for you is to find a new webhost
Also getting these, even though my host DID turn safe_mode OFF
I'm getting this on my imagecache admin page:
* warning: realpath() [function.realpath]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 1168 is not allowed to access /tmp owned by uid 0 in /imedia/users/Apartments/htdocs/includes/file.inc on line 190.

even though my host agreed to and, according to phpinfo - they did, turn off safe_mode.
PHPINFO:
...
safe_mode Off Off
safe_mode_exec_dir no value no value
safe_mode_gid Off Off
safe_mode_include_dir .:/usr/share/php/:/usr/share/pear/:/usr/share/php5/:/usr/local/lib/php/:/usr/local/php529/share/pear .:/usr/share/php/:/usr/share/pear/:/usr/share/php5/:/usr/local/lib/php/:/usr/local/php529/share/pear
...
[end]
What now? Can I just ignore these errors? I'm particularly worried that my imagecache won't work.
Thank you,
~Todd
Mm-kay, that was weird..
I refreshed my cache under "Site Performance"and the error messages seem to have disappeared -- even though I already had all caching disabled. Maybe my browser had them cached?
In any case, please ignore this.
