I am creating a website that is ment for a very big comunity and socialising. I actually found all the modules I think I need, except for the chat.

I need to know if such a module exist, and if so were can I get it from. If not, then how would you approach the problam.

As I said this module shold include chat.
The idea is that any user could create his own "chat room", to which other users could log and chat in.
Also, the creator of that room would be able to "admin" the room (deciding the rooms subject, kicking pepole out of the room, maybe banning them).
Lastly, the room creator (and mybe the rest of the users as well) should be able to show the rest of the users in that chatroom their webcam live broadcast, as well as their system sound (so if they'll talk on their microphone for example, the rest of the users on that chatroom will be able to hear them)

So, what do you guys say? anything like this is available anywhere?

When I worked with phpNuke, I found spChat to be an ideal chatroom module. Obviously, you'd need to rewrite a lot of the module parts of the code for it to work in Drupal, but the core chatroom feature is independent from phpNuke code, so it may be less work than it first appears.

I wonder could anyone successfully integrate any of these two chat programms to Drupal 4.7?

Contact me if you're interested in the FlashChat being integrated.

I've completed FlashChat 3.9 integration, and would like to do the newer version but I don't have a copy of it ATM.
The admin side of things is not integrated but would be happy to tackle this if somebody wants it.

Hi!
FlashChat integration sounds like a great idea!
I am working on large community site which requires something like flashchat. The only problem is the user account integration. Please tell me if you have a working version.
Thanks.

hey there, personal I suggest u use 123 flashchat which is based in flash in customer and java in server with beautiful interface. It offers free chat module for Drupal. To me, the most gleamy feature of it is that it can tolerate hundreds and thousands of users in its chat room without interupts while it is easy to understand and runs fast. However it is not as cheap as flashchat with an initial price of $99, but I think good service is worth the decent money, right?
Here is the link of the introduction of its chat module

yea, I tried this 1 to 1 demo, seems nice, but I also have some questions, can it be integrated with asp/php/asp.net/jsp?

There's also phpfreechat. There's even a module for it to integrate in Drupal. However, its still in beta. I am going for this, i am just waiting for the final release at http://phpfreechat.net

there was a chat products introcduction, which is very objective. Let me post it here:

As far as I know, I konw several different chat software which can be integrated in to nuke with their own strong spoints and disadvantages, here are my advices, to choose which one, it is totally depend on u:

Flashchat
URL:
http://www.tufat.com
Advantages:
cheap; server side written by php which can be supported by normal server instead of separated server;

Disadvantages:
response slowly and the server cripples every time when there are over 20 users.

A good choice for small sites, who have no much money and need a simple chat.

Flashcoms
URL:
http://www.flashcoms.com/
Advantages:
professional design & various functions
Disadvantages:
response slowly, server based tatolly by flash communication server which takes huge resource; cant afford many people online in the same time.

Not a good choice if you care about the speed and resource.

Userplane:
URL:
http://www.userplane.com/
Actually the only difference betweent userplane and flashcoms is their price I think, but they are all not that inexpensive with the initiate price of about $300. It has free hosting. But if you don't like ads pop up here and there in your chat, don't choose the free stuff, pls. For the free host, check it here, pls:
https://www.userplane.com/buy/index.cfm?integration=1

Not a good choice if you care about the speed and resource. But you can choice it's free hosting if the ad is not a problem to you.

123flashchat
URL:
http://www.123flashchat.com
Advantages:
professional design & various functions; server side developed with java, much less resource consumed; able to handle thousands of user at the same; affordable price initiates at $199. A completely customizable interface. And it offers free integration modules, whcih you can use to integrate the chat into many boards and CMSs. What's more, there support service is the best, 24/7 online live support.
Disadvantages:
The default interface of 123flashchat is not as luxuriant userplane or flashcoms. But as the skin is completely customizable, you can ignore this disadvantage. And for it's skin customization tutorial, you can check here:
http://www.123flashchat.com/howtoskin.html

The best choice in both the price and the product quality.

Hope this can help u.
