I am just looking for opinions, not support.

Does drupal work as well with postgresql as with mysql? Has anybody encounter any special problems using postgresql?

I'm not sure how well supported it is in 6.x (sounds like it works up to a point but you may hit glitches, especially in contrib modules), but I think it's better in 7.x.
