Allow admin set how big chunk of text is displayed

I suggest allow admin set how big part of message is displayed, for now it's 400 and in most cases it's the entire message.
In my case I changed this in code for 50 because I want only one sentence from message (like it's done in Gmail notifier), but there should be interface for it.
