creating node-title markers

Hello, gmap works very well with views but now I want to take it a step futher:

I want to display the node title of some nodes directly in the markers on a map.

I do not want a popped-up version (the popup still has to show up when clicked, it has got a title + photo also), I really want the node-title in the 'marker'... is it possible? can someone give me some direction? I browsed around in the forum but didn't find usable examples..
