I am encountering a problem where videos will play in Safari or IE but not in Firefox

has anyone else seen this problem ?

The symptom is: instead of playing the video, the spinning circle will just spin indefinitely

solved, it seems... it's due to ffmpeg needing to be recompiled. don't use lame and ffmpeg rpms... build them from source as per the directions
