I have a view that I use to show a page and a block of certain nodes, all works well on my dev machine but going online (http://www.uniben.edu/news), the page view gives a 404 error, strange.

It's a very simple view, filters by node_type, sorts DSC, no arguments, and displays fields (Node title e.t.c)

Any idea as to why this behaviour shows up, any remedies. Thanks

Could it be that you missed to clear the menu cache?

Could you also export the view, here once?

I cleared my cache as suggested and the problem still persisted, as requested I have attached an export of "news" the content type and it's associated "news_view".

Thanks all.

I see no reason why this page should provide 404. Maybe there is interference from the server or some other module.

First, can you run this query:

SELECT * from menu_router WHERE path = 'news';

Yes please, I did run the query on my server's PhpMyAdmin (live server where the error occurs) and it ran well, returning a record. I have attached a screenshot of the query result. Thanks a lot.

As far as Drupal is concerned, then, that page should be running with no access control. I suspect perhaps something in the webserver has something special configured for that URL and/or is rewriting it? Another possibility is an alias in your url_alias table -- you might check the 'path' administrating. Perhaps it is aliased to some page that does not exist?

Yeah, it appears the problem was with the server having something to do with that "news" path. I changed it to "newsroll" and all is well now. Thanks for your hints, I'm very grateful.
