The feature this module provides is already in the issue queue of the Language Icons module.

You can talk with the maintainer(s) in order to merge. Take a look at the talk here: #607234: Show language name as icon tooltip

Once you have merged, you can co-maintain the module in order to implement the features requested in the above mentioned issue. In other words:

- Disable the tooltip if language name is already shown next to the icon.
- Have a setting in the module's config page to enable/disable tooltips when only icons are shown.

In case it comes to a dead-end, you can mark it as 'won't fix'.

Should we close this one now or wait till a stable version of Language icons is released? (the feature is available only in the dev version)
