What is your relation with the Kazakh community (http://www.arba.ru)?

Gábor Hojtsy’s picture

@kiamlaluno: does that site do any translation work?

@aldarXose: do you know of any pre-existing translation work to Kazakh?

apaderno’s picture

http://drupaler.ru/translate/languages lists also Kazakh, in the list of the languages for which they have translations; they have 440 translations, and 13 suggestions in Kazakh.

No feedback. Marking as postponed, so it will be found if someone else comes around with more sustained interest in doing this translation.

I have marked #895960: Add Kazakh language to l.d.o as duplicate of this report.

Marked #917828: Add Kazakh language to l.d.o a duplicate and asked the submitter to follow up here.

Let me repeat that localize.drupal.org would welcome an active team to take this on.

I know that in http://drupaler.ru/translate/languages i can find kazakh translations, but will be better to download KZ-kz langpacks from drupal.org. Can i import langfiles from site above? What you think? (for info: i am kazakh, and i have no problems with translation)

Gábor Hojtsy’s picture

From our perspective, its best if your language is on localize.drupal.org, as we build infrastructure and tools to support that best.

aldarXose’s picture

goood))) so... when can i start localization and what should I do? Do you have quickstart for translaters?

Gábor Hojtsy’s picture

@aldarXose: can you contact the drupaler.ru Kazakh team and discuss if they'd like to move to localize.drupal.org?

aldarXose’s picture

@Gábor Hojtsy: I am join to the kazakh localization group in drupaler.ru just for information about community. Now in group 36 members. but I do not see any activity from members... try to contact them and taste localization quality. I will write to you.

I am with aldarXose,

I am Kazakh, born in Kazakhstan.
I have Masters degree in Information Systems Management from USA. Also have a computer science background.
I am developing websites in Kazakh (Drupal).
Could you please add Kazakh language to L.D.O.?!?

dark_kz’s picture

Hello everyone!
I am member of Kazakh language team on drupaler.ru site (nickname onizuka).
So, what about translations? I have only translated 1-2 basic modules, usually I translate only user interface on each site, that needs Kazakh lang.

achalak’s picture

Hi dark_kz,

How are you? Nice to hear from you.
Could you please tell to all members of drupaler.ru to migrate to L.D.O.?
It is better to use L.D.O. since drupal.org is a main resouces website to get information about any developments.

Best,
Alen

Come on guys, be more active.

We all see your ignorance of Russian team, so I have no words, only letters.

@ Gábor Hojtsy: I am ready to be a maintainer of Kazakh group.
I talked to dark_kz (member of drupaler.ru - onizuka), and he is eager to migrate to l.d.o.

What are your suggestions Gabor?

@dark_kz: ok, I'm seeing (a) you are leading the Kazakh team on drupaler.ru (b) the team only has about 400 translations submitted of which half you contributed (c) you expressed you'd like to migrate to localize.drupal.org.

I've created the team at http://localize.drupal.org/languages/kk and made @dark_kz the initial owner / admin. You can add any number of other admins and manage group level permissions of people.

Please report issues as you find them! Your team members can now join and help import existing translations and work on more translations. Anybody can sign up for being a member of the team and they will be able to submit suggestions right away. The initial admin can change permissions of people signing up, widening their capabilities. See http://localize.drupal.org/node/616 for explanation on how. It is highly suggested to grant both moderation permissions to those who you also designate admins.

Welcome on board!

Thank you!

I think I start to translate after NewYear holidays, busy now.

Қазақ аударымдарының тобына қосылыңдар, қазақстандықтар!

Gábor Hojtsy’s picture

Well, please start by migrating the existing content and closing off the drupaler.ru group as we agreed :)

achalak’s picture

Great,

Thank you Gabor. Now we are in l.d.o., and I think that the first milestone is passed.
I hope that very soon drupal in kazakh will be a reality.

dark_kz, take the group, way to go.
