I've been hoping to upgrade my Drupal 5 site to Drupal 6. My biggest stumbling block right now is Vote Up/Down. My site uses Vote Up/Down extensively, including storylinks and the bookmarklet feature.

I've been testing Vote Up/Down 6.x-1.0-beta6 and Vote Up/Down 6.x-2.x. Neither seems to support the storylink node. I did find a CVS message that indicated that storylink was going to be forked. However, I didn't find any reference to a new storylink module.

Has anyone here made the move from Vote Up/Down 5 to 6? If so, please share your experience and any suggestions you may have.

I've only just recently started digging into setting up the Vote Up/Down module in Drupal 6 and I find it overwhelming. (Disclaimer: I'm a drupal newbie with a little Wordpress background.) The provided documentation seems a bit outdated, and improvising with newer modules to get things working is just too confusing at the moment.

So, from a perspective of a novice, I haven't seen any turn-key method to getting this working with Drupal 6. I'm sure there's some people out there that have done this, though I'm hoping someone can jump on and give tips. Otherwise I guess I'm going to try setting things up with 5 for now as well.

My biggest issue right now is in how to migrate my storylink nodes from Drupal 5 to Drupal 6. There is no current Drupal 6 support for the storylink portion of the Vote Up/Down module.

Does anyone have any experience to share regarding how they migrated their old storylink nodes to Drupal 6? I would very much appreciate any advice and I think the discussion would be useful to include in the Vote Up/Down 6.x documentation.

I'm afraid Storylink is not maintained anymore. It was a part of the 5.x version, but 6.x version focuses on VUD as a lightweight voting framework.

I would be interested in taking over the maintenance of Storylink. I'm not a programmer, but I've been able to make some progress on upgrading Storylink to Drupal 6.

What steps do I need to take to have this happen?

Are there others willing to help me develop the Storylink module for Drupal 6?
